"Small wooden object studio with a focus on manufacturing methods and repeatability"

This collection aims to enhance productivity, organization, and aesthetic appeal at your home desk or office. Functionality, efficiency, and elegance are combined to create a collection that inspires motivation and creativity. Each item is meant to seamlessly integrate into your current workflow and create a harmonious and elevated workspace and a more enjoyable everyday experience.

Sketching and prototyping with the objective of developing a consistent form language across all four objects

Our CNC machine was down for most of the term so a lot of ideating was done in rhino in order to get as close to the final iteration as possible. 3D printed and wooden prototypes were used to get an accurate visual of exactly how the wood would be cut by the CNC.

Production process through the use of the CNC, jigs, and some post-processing finishing operations

One of the main goals of this studio was to design something that could be produced at a large scale. The CNC was the best option for these objects since they have small details and measurements need to be accurate to interact with typical desk technology effortlessly.

Two sets of desk accessories, cherry wood and ash wood + cork

The first set is made completely of deep colored cherry wood with a subtle grain pattern. This set allows the shape of the objects to be the main focus, emphasizing the consistency of the forms

The second set is a combination of ash wood with a graphic grain pattern and cork accents. Cork compliments other typical desk items and creates a soft and secure connection between your surface and the desk accessory.

Both are finished with a thin coating of wax.

Part of Stockholm Furniture Fair

This project was chosen to be included in the University of Oregon's exhibit at the Stockholm Furniture Fair in 2024. The project underwent a full redesign to implement improvements and feedback.
